Ropeley Lutheran Ladies Guild 70th Celebration

70TH Anniversary Celebrations 1947 -2017

On Sunday the 21st May 2017, about 60 people attended the Ropeley Lutheran Church for a service of thanksgiving for 70 years of Ropeley Lutheran Ladies Guild.

Celebrations at Ropeley

Past members of Ropeley and Mt Sylvia Guild received special invitations to attend the day. Those attending were presented with a camellia to wear and a handkerchief with a crocheted edge, donated by Ropeley member, Val Dodt.

Following the service and greetings, a light lunch was served in the church hall, where a large collection of photos depicting guild and church activities was on display.

Orders were taken for an Anniversary book compiled by Rev. James Haak depicting history and activities of the Ladies Guild over the past 70 years.

A beautiful decorated fruit cake adorned a small table and the anniversary cake was cut by the eldest, past guild member who attended on the day and Ropeley’s eldest member. The ladies were Agnes Kleidon (nee Krenske) and Pearl Natalier (nee Schulz).

Photos were then taken of past members and also of our current members, along with attending Pastors, James Haak and Noel Burton and Vicar Joseph Graham.

A wonderful day of fellowship, food and reminiscing was had by all, celebrating 70 years of Ropeley Ladies Guild.

To God be the glory, great things He has done.
