LWQ Wide Bay Burnett Zone Fellowship Day

19th September 2019.

Hosted by the ‘Zion’ Womens Guild – Gympie.

Approximately 40 Ladies and Gentlemen from across ten Guilds/Fellowship gathered together, and were surrounded with blessings, comfort and peace, under the theme – ‘The Power of God’s Love’ ;John 15:12.

‘This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you.’

Following a delicious morning tea we were welcomed by Guild and Zone Presidents Marlene Knight and Heidi Lane.

Pastor Heath Pukallus

Opening Devotion was let by Pastor Heath Pukallus, who reminded us, ‘that we are to abide in Him’. The Lutheran Church Australia has the motto ‘Where love comes to life’. Loves draws us out of ourselves to be of service to others. God always knows who we are, our job is to believe Him, trust in Him. The Holy Spirit is the action of love within each of us.  Devotion time concluded with the singing of “Jesus Loves Me”, “Here I am Lord” and “Love Lifted me”.

Ron Douw

The Guest Speaker Ron Douw, a representative of RACQ; a genuine Queensland Service, presented an enthralling visual and informative outline of the outstanding 40 years of service throughout our State.  Crews aboard the planes and helicopters now include a highly qualified Doctor and a Paramedic on all flights.  The cost amounts to $12,500.00 each time a Service flight leaves the ground.

The Offering of $1,085.00 was shared; ½ to RACQ Care Flight Service and the other ½ to Royal Flying Doctor Service.  The presentation concluded with the singing of ‘What a Friend we have in Jesus’ and ‘On the Wings of a Snow White Dove’.

Bible Study

Pastor Heath Pukallus’ bible study was based on the theme.  The looked at the many forms of love, and various words that could be used instead of love. The promises of love can move us to do great things.  It’s not about me, it’s about trusting God.

We need the word of God in our own hearts.  We are to love all people as God loved us.  Are we liked by God, OR are we to be like God ?  Looking at a variety of bible verses, we remembered the promise of the Holy Spirit, He is the doer, the enabler.  How we can be made   holy – believing through the word.  God loves me even though I am a sinner, – how we can serve each other with love.

All true love (Agape) comes from God and that love from God flows through us to our neighbour.  Many thanks to Pastor Heath.

Following a delicious marvelous lunch we were entertained by Inge Schilling, as she led us through her personal highlights and a variety of emotions on her three visits to Israel, in 1995, 2008 and 2011.  An enjoyable and different look at travelling.

A very enjoyable Praise time followed, and include ‘Praise my Soul’,  ‘Blessed Assurance’; ‘’Amazing Grace’; and ‘Law if Love’; was followed by Pastor Heath’s encouraging closing Devotion.

The singing of ‘’How Great Thou Art’ bought to a close a wonderful day of sharing and fellowship together through the power of love.
