Rum Ball Fundraiser

In 1988, members of the Lutheran Women’s Fellowship at St Martin’s in Gladstone wanted to raise funds to support a local student at the LCA Seminary in Adelaide.  Using the local Bundy Rum, they made 70 boxes of rum balls, which sold like the proverbial hot cakes.

Since then, they’ve expanded operations, and with the use of a local bakery’s mixer, the team now produces 17,000 rum balls a year, with proceeds going to support local and LWQ/LWA projects.  Definitely a case of “from little things, big things grow”!
