It gives us a deep sense of connectiveness to be called into the community belonging to family and friends and one body in Christ. The one identity binds us all together when we pray The Lord’s Prayer. Through mission we are to be “Shepherds of the Church of God”.

Guest Speakers, Lyndal Maher and Eunice Wallis gave a very interesting and informative talk about the various projects they have under taken with a team from Immanuel in the Lutheran area of Watoto and Kamuli districts in Uganda.

One of the houses

From humble beginnings each village has several houses, which accommodate a “Mumma” (usually a widow) who looks after a number of orphans. A school, medical and church buildings. The women and children are able to support themselves with farming, animals. The Dorcas cottage in Kamuli is equipped with sewing machines. The women have learnt to sew dignity kits for girls so they can attend school and garments that they sell at the markets. Their future focus is on providing Bibles in their language, build another sewing room, supply seeds and hoes for farming to encourage sustainability and independence. Guest speakers were each presented with a small gift.
