14th October 2024 Hosted by: Alberton Ladies Guild AT ST PETER’S LUTHERAN CHURCH ALBERTON What…
Wide Bay-Burnett Zone Fellowship Day
We gathered on the 22nd August 2024 at the Faith Lutheran Church North Bundaberg. It was a day of joy with beautiful singing, praising the Lord, Bible study and shared friendship.
The day started with women arriving from Hervey Bay, Gladstone, Murgon, Kingaroy, and St Johns, greeted by the women of Faith with a delicious morning tea.
The first song was “For His Glory and my Good’’ Pastor Graham Pfeffer gave the opening devotion based on Salt and Light and then the song Pass My Love Around.
A warm welcome was given by Karen Bryce of Faith, followed by Nola Zerner, President of the WBBZ. Greeting and Apologies were presented by Joan Yappa. In all there was a gathering of 29 women, Pastor Pfeffer, and Nicole Beasley our guest speaker.
The theme of the day was Salt and Light with Pastor Pfeffer conducting the Bible Study taken from Matthew 5: 13- 15. “You are the salt of the earth” In the Bible Study we delved deeper into the covenant of salt, how salt was used for purifying and healing, flavouring and preserving. You are salt means your words help heal and flavour peoples’ lives and the light of Christ in you is not to be hidden.
As disciples of Jesus we are the salt of the earth. Our words and actions are to reflect the love of Christ and his Holy Spirit living in us as believers. We endeavour to faithfully live out His teachings and sharing the good news with others. Let our light shine through with love towards one another.
Our guest speaker Nicole presented a topic that many of us are not aware of! Days for Girls International is an organization that seeks to care for girls and women in poor countries who experience Period Poverty. They do not have the means to obtain sanity care that we take for granted and are often ostracised in their communities.
We retired for a beautiful lunch prepared by the women of Faith and more fellowship before continuing with Praise songs. The offering from the day of $680 will go to support the worthy cause of Days for Girls.
As the day was drawing to a close we shared in more uplifting praise singing, activities with Alicia Graham, closing devotion with Joy Croucher, news with Nola and Prayer with Pastor Pfeffer.
