Members of LWQ Wide Bay Burnett Zone and visitors gathered at St. James Lutheran Church, Hervey Bay on Thursday 13th May under the Theme “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good and His love endures forever” (Psalm 106 : 7)
President of St. James Ladies Denise Hatch welcomed everyone. Pastor Tim Spilsbury introduced St. James College Chaplain – Ingeburg Dell’Antonio, the morning guest speaker. Several students from the college addressed the gathering on ‘why they were most thankful’. Pastor Tim gave the morning devotion followed by Holy Communion.
The business section of the Rally preceded a delicious lunch provided by the Hervey Bay Ladies. Everyone joined in the Praise session after lunch. Two ladies from Bayside Transformation were the guests for the afternoon bringing tears to our eyes with their stories of People with different addictions who have been helped back to a meaningful life through this Christian volunteer group who receive no government help but not only survive but have outstanding results from their services.
Zone executive members elected for 2021 as follows – President – Heidi Lane, 1st Vice Pres. Pam Prange, 2nd Vice Pres. Bev Jorgensen, Secretary Joan Yappy, Treasurer Karen Bryce, Extra members Gail Gerchow and Muriel Hess. Nominations Committee – Nola Zerner and Gail Knock. Pastor Tim installed the office bearers, wishing them every Blessing as they serve in their nominated positions, and thanked the retiring executive members for their time and efforts.
Leona Brindley from Hervey Bay Ladies read the closing devotion, Afternoon tea concluded a most enjoyable and uplifting day.
