IMMANUEL BUDERIM – Women’s Fellowship Report
We finished our year 2021, by celebrating the Birth of our Saviour with a Morning tea on Fellowship Terrace which enabled us to invite other members of our church to join us. Joy Hurrell entertained us with a re-enactment of the Birth of Jesus with members taking part. As all were amateur actors, it certainly entertained those present. Thanks to The Doecke lads who were a big help in the kitchen guided by their Grandma, Dawn Bertram, enabling our members to enjoy the morning. We will follow this format to end 2022.The $400.00 profit from the morning was donated to the Ukraine appeal through ALWS. In May we treated ourselves to a morning tea at Bloomfield Café Buderim, which is staffed by volunteers. Donations for the day over $200.00 with $100.00 from Fellowship Funds was donated to Bloom Hill Cancer Fund.
We continue being blessed to be able to hold our meetings on the second Thursday of each month. We are now holding our regular monthly meetings at the Community Centre at Immanuel Gardens, as Immanuel college grows they need extra time slots at the Church for assemblies, music recitals etc. The majority of our members now reside in ILU’s at the Gardens therefore being convenient for all..
We remember each ones birthdays with a card and flowers especially the ‘0 birthdays – which are now becoming the norm. The majority of our members are now over the 80’s. In spite of this, we again finish the year with a healthy credit balance, enabling us to donate to Mission work, within the Church and overseas. Funeral catering ads to the money we give to Missions through LWA and LWQ and our Zone. We were able to give $270.00 to help our Confirmees attend camp. “Pam’s Jams” helps, but in a small way this year as COVID restricts our ways of selling. We always welcome new/visiting members.
God continues to Bless our group even though we again said farewell to members, who have joined their sisters in heaven.
Pastor Dan asked that we make gingerbread biscuits in Christmas shapes for the Children of the congregation to decorate for Advent.
We must take time to reflect on what God had given us in the physical sense. We ask that He open our eyes to even more reasons for thanks. We also thank Him for how He is at work behind the scenes. Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass.
